BVI Yacht Charters is very well run. Having chartered several boats around the world, BVIYC is by far the best organized I've experienced. Yes, it does take time for both send off and return, but the staff seems far more skilled at doing this turnover compared to all other charter companies. (Hint: one thing to consider when prepping for send off is to pre-provision via internet or arrive early and get this shopping task completed; this cost us at least 1.5 hours). The dock hands are good and know what they are doing. The office staff is sharp, cheery, on the ball and quite efficient - documents and supplies are all well organized. Nelson did a through job carefully walking me through the boat before we launched. We really enjoyed Andiamo, a Jeanneau 440. The 440 design, with the walk around transom, was great for a tall guy like me - the bimini has good head-room, too. I did not care for the self-tacking jib and found the GPS plotter to only be loosely calibrated, but perhaps that is just me. Overall, the boat is in great condition for being 3 years old. Since we don't like to run the engine much, we used the generator more than we thought we would; helpful to recharge batteries and also power the blender, toaster, etc. All systems (water heater, electric winch, engine, batteries, heads, galley, auto pilot, showers, anchor windlass) were in very good to great shape. Andiamo will not win too many races, but she's a great cruiser (which, of course, is the whole point).
