This charter was my wife and I's fifth trip to the BVI - but it was our first time to charter our own vessel. We had always sailed previously with family, and the charter was always in their name. So this trip was our "maiden voyage" of sorts. You can imagine the millions of questions we had throughout the process, and the staff at BVI Yacht Charters could not have been more helpful the entire time. Everything we did in preparation for, and during this trip, was our first time to do it on our own - everything from provisioning to chart briefing - so we needed a lot of advice and direction, and the staff was always there to help any way they could. Overall, everything ran efficiently - we got out earlier than we expected on our first day and we were able to check the yacht in with no problems ... and everything in between was exactly what we hoped it would be - a week of beautiful beaches, clear water, warm sun, relaxation and rum! We invited two other couples on this charter, so there were six adults total. Sweet Chill was a fabulous yacht and there was ample room for everyone. Whether we all wanted to hang out together in the salon, or if we all wanted to be alone, this Lagoon 440 was set up in such a way that allowed all of us to get exactly what we wanted to out of the trip when we wanted it. She was smooth under sail and she handled surprisingly well in tight spots - pulling into docks and picking up moorings - for a big vessel. Hopefully when we make our next trip down to the BVI, Sweet Chill will still be in the fleet because we'd love to take her out again.
