Current Entry Requirements for the BVI

TRAVEL INSURANCE
All travellers to the British Virgin Islands are required to have Travel Insurance, protecting them in the event of a positive case or quarantine. This should be seperate from your personal medical insurance. We recommend Squaremouth to find affordable policies.
Where captain & crew are fully vaccinated & present a negative test taken no more than 48 hours prior:
A person is deemed to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after they have received both doses of an approved two-dose vaccine such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna, and one shot of a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.
Present on arrival negative results of a PCR or approved Rapid Antigen test taken no more than 48 hours prior, along with proof of vaccination.
No further testing will be required.
Where captain & crew are fully vaccinated & present a negative test taken more than 48 hours prior:
In the event of flight cancellation or travel delay.
A person is deemed to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after they have received both doses of an approved two-dose vaccine such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna, and one shot of a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson.
You must pre-register your arrival via Hummingbird portal.

Present on arrival negative results of a PCR or approved Rapid Antigen test taken no more than 5 days prior, along with proof of vaccination.
Subject to a Rapid or PCR test on arrival. Where a rapid test is taken you will await results at the port of entry. Where a PCR test is administered results will be sent via email – in this case you are not required to quarantine while awaiting results.
Fully vaccinated travelers with children:
Children (between 5 and 17) traveling within a group of fully vaccinated adults (as above) will be subject to testing on arrival. They will be immediately released from quarantine along with their fully vaccinated parent or guardian. They must remain within their ‘bubble’.
Present on arrival negative results of a PCR test taken no more than 5 days prior.
Partially Vaccinated & Unvaccinated:
Register your intent to travel through the BVI Gateway BVI – Travel Authorization (bviaa.com). Start the application 5 days ahead of time. Complete the application at least 48 hours ahead.
Upload negative results of a NASOPHARYNGEAL RT-PCR taken no more than 5 days before arrival in the territory.
Upload proof of vaccination, where applicable.
Upload proof of Travel Insurance, covering Covid-19.
Receive & print your ‘Authorization to Travel’ certificate.
Subject to a Rapid Antigen test on arrival. Where the result is negative you will be able to move freely within the territory.
Quarantine is NO LONGER required.

Safety measures including mask wearing indoors, compulsory hand washing and social distancing are in place at all establishments.
TRAVELLING BETWEEN USVI & BVI
The ferry terminal at the Road Town Jetty is open to international travelers, arriving by commercial ferry.
Operators are currently running a scaled down operation, with 3 outbound and 3 inbound services a day – YOU MUST PRE BOOK YOUR FERRY
The same entry requirements listed above are applicable.

USVI based water taxi’s, Dolphin Water Taxi and Seahorse offer an air charter inbound and a water pick up for your outbound journey.
InterCaribbean also have reasonably priced flights available.
VACCINATION PROGRESS
The vaccine is readily available and being rolled out across the BVI quickly.
RETURNING TO THE US
For return travel through Puerto Rico, travelers are required to present the results of a negative test taken within 72 hours of travel.
For return travel through St Thomas, USVI, travelers are required to present the results of a negative test taken within 72 hours of travel.
