Getting Married in the BVI’s!
In order to get married here you have to have been in the BVI's for a minimum of 3 days, you need to make an appointment with the Attorney General at least 3 days before the wedding (Office is in Road Town), take $110 worth of BVI stamps (purchased from the Post Office in Road Town).
Call 284 494 3701 extension 2160 for the appointment. You will need to take with you: both people getting married; 2 witnesses; $110 stamps (as mentioned); both passports & any documents required if either person has been married before (divorce papers or death certificate).
For the actual Wedding you will need to book The Registrar, the wedding can take place on a yacht, on a beach, anywhere you like! The Registrar will perform the Ceremony. The wedding must be at least 3 days later than your Attorney General's appointment. Call 284 494 3492 to make arrangements.
There are lots of Churches in the BVI's, if you would like to get married in a Church you will need to book the Minister for that Church instead of the Registrar, please let us know and we can help you choose the Church!
